k_harasyn_smallA friend of mind once told me that he loved the change of seasons; and that he didn't really appreciate the transition from one season to the next until he had lived in the southern USA for many years and came back to live in Canada.  The state where he lived tended to be sunny and warm year-round, so the Canadian climate was quite a adjustment.
The change of season also marks the start of ASQ-London fall meeting schedule.  On September 15, we are touring the new Canadian Centre for Product Validation (CCPV) in London, a fascinating testing and product validation centre.

CCPVThey are unlike any other testing facility in Canada, offering electrical, mechanical, performance, environmental, and thermal testing under one roof.  Come out early and take advantage of networking opportunities and swap summer vacation stories with your colleagues.  Doors open at 6:30 and meeting starts at 7:00.  RSVP This email address is being protected from spambots. ASQ Quality Award for Excellence

Believe it or not, it's not too late for your company to apply or for you to nominate a worthy customer or supplier to the London Quality Award.  If you're considering applying for the QAE, do it before the September 16 deadline since this will most likely be the final year that the application is free of charge.  As the QAE moves to a more self-sustaining model, the QAE committee has debated introducing application fees to cover the costs associated with the award -- but for this year it remains unbelievably free-of-charge to apply.  The award, auditor feedback, evaluation report and the simple act of reviewing the application criteria is an incredible value and experience.  If you would like more information, please visit our website or contact This email address is being protected from spambots. Volunteer Positions Available

deming_volunteerConsidering a volunteer position with ASQ London?  There is no better way to take control of your career, contribute to a worthy cause, and get involved with your section.  For 2017 we are looking for an Education Chair.  The Education Chair works closely with the executive committee to evaluate the certification course needs of the section and organize educational events, such as certification primers to prepare members for their certification exams.  If this sounds intriguing to you, please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. (This email address is being protected from spambots. Make sure to drop by and say hi at the September Meeting.
